# Manage Key Events

> Marks Google Analytics 4 events as key events (conversions), changes their counting method or default value, or removes them from the key events list

Marks Google Analytics 4 events as key events (conversions), changes their counting method or default value, or removes them from the key events list. Read current key events with ga4\_get\_property\_settings first.

## Inputs

| `account` | array (also accepts a comma-separated string) | No | - | The GA4 property to change. Only one property at a time. |
| `action` | string or SelectableOption | Yes | - | 'create' marks events as key events (conversions), 'update' changes the counting method or default value of existing key events, 'delete' removes events from the key events list. Options: 'create', 'update', 'delete'. |
| `event_names` | string or array of string | Yes | - | Event name(s) to apply the action to, e.g. 'purchase' or \['sign\_up', 'generate\_lead']. Existing key events can be read with ga4\_get\_property\_settings (setting\_type 'key\_events'). |
| `counting_method` | string or SelectableOption | No | - | How often the key event is counted: 'ONCE\_PER\_EVENT' (every occurrence) or 'ONCE\_PER\_SESSION' (at most once per session). Defaults to ONCE\_PER\_EVENT on create. |

## Output

**Type**: `Dict`

Returns one result per event name with its status (created, already\_key\_event, updated, deleted) and key event id.
