# Update Tag

> Replaces a tag in a Google Tag Manager workspace with a full Tag resource payload

Replaces a tag in a Google Tag Manager workspace with a full Tag resource payload. Workflow: gtm\_get\_tag, edit the payload, gtm\_update\_tag, then version and publish.
