# Update Custom Audience Status

> Archive an OpenAI Ads custom audience so it can no longer be used

Archive an OpenAI Ads custom audience so it can no longer be used. OpenAI exposes no unarchive action; this does not cancel an in-progress membership operation.

| | |
| - | - |
| **App** | OpenAI Ads |
| **Operation ID** | `openai_ads_update_custom_audience_status` |
| **Type** | Action |

## Inputs

| `audience_id` | string | Yes | - | Custom audience to archive. Archiving makes it unavailable for targeting. |

## Output

Native OpenAI Ads audience or membership-operation response. Membership status processing is not completion; retain returned IDs for follow-up.
